We (North Lincolnshire Homes) are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible and inclusive to everyone. It is our intention that our website conforms to the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) guidelines on web design.
To achieve our goal we are currently working on each individual page of the North Lincolnshire Homes website to ensure W3C compliance and that all of the pages meet the minimum standard required.
Text size
The North Lincolnshire Homes website uses a standard font available on all Windows and Mac computers; Tahoma. The default font size used throughout the website is 12px.
The font size of this website can be altered by using the 'A A A' option, which is positioned at the top of every page on our website.
Magnification
Despite our A A A button allowing users to increase text size, users of Internet Explorer can zoom in further.
- Click the "View" menu option
- Select "Zoom"
The Keyboard shortcut for this is CTRL+ (zoom in), CTRL- (zoom out) and CTRL0 (resets to 100%).
Colours
The is a simple and effective way to alter our websites text and background colour using Internet Explorer. This is of particular use for our site users who rely on magnification tools to read our website as a white background can produce an uncomfortable glare.
- Click the "Tools" menu option
- Select "Internet Options"
- Click the "Colors" tab and untick the box marked "Use Windows colors". You can now make the necessary changes to text and background colours. Once you are happy click "OK"
- Next click the "Accessibility" tab. Tick the box marked "Ignore colors specified on webpages". Click "OK"
