TV Licensing are making some changes to the annual Direct Debit renewal process. On expiry of their current licence period, customers who pay by this method will receive a single, extended payment plan which will outline payments until 2016.
Provided payments are kept up, their licence will be renewed automatically each year but they will cease to receive the annual reminder letter prior to the renewal.
They shouldn’t worry however, they will still be licensed and there is no need to do anything, or contact TV Licensing, unless there is a change in personal details such as a change of address.
However, anyone paying by annual Direct Debit but nearing 75 years of age willl need to remember to contact TV Licensing to apply for their free licence. If they don’t, they could continue to make payments they don’t have to.
